We are working with the community of Innerwick in East Lothian on a research project to make local homes more energy efficient. The project aims to bring the knowledge and experience of our architects and Retrofit Coordinators to the local people to impartially guide the process, provide technical information and empower the community to make a meaningful impact on their home energy bills, health and the environment.
At our first community event, we listening to local people’s stories about their homes, finding out what works and doesn’t work, what homeowners’ priorities are, and discussed the barriers standing in the way of making energy improvements.
As we all work to retrofit more existing homes in Scotland, we hope projects like this will act as a catalyst for more groups to come together to use their strength in numbers, learn about their options and pull together for change.
